Ms. Adkisson’s Special Education Class
Our classroom is for students who have special educational needs due to learning difficulties, physical disabilities, or sensory needs. Our room is specifically designed, staffed, and resourced to provide appropriate special education services to meet individual needs successfully.
In the morning, we service students district-wide who happen to have high sensory needs. These students, in grades first through sixth, have become quite successful this year, and are rising to high social and academic expectations well. After our district-wide sensory session, we service kindergarten students who need a sensory break from the rigors of morning academics. In the afternoon, our room is used as a Kindergarten Resource setting for students needing additional small group or one-on-one instruction to help boost academic and social performance in the General Education setting.
