Behaviors: Definitions

- Inappropriate Language – Student engages in low-intensity instance of inappropriate language.
- Physical Contact - Student engages in non-serious, but inappropriate physical contact.
- Defiance/Disrespect/Non-Compliance - Student engages in brief or low-intensity failure to respond to adult requests.
- Disruption - Student engages in low-intensity, but inappropriate disruption.
- Property Misuse - Student engages in low-intensity misuse of property.

- Abusive Language/Inappropriate Language/Profanity - Student engages in verbal messages that include swearing, name-calling or use of words in an inappropriate way.
- Fighting/Physical Aggression - Student engages in actions involving serious physical contact where injury may occur (hitting, punching, hitting with an object, kicking, biting – breaking the skin, leaving marks, doing intentionally).
- Harassment/Bullying - Student delivers repeated messages that include threats, intimidation, obscene gestures, pictures, and/or written notes. Student repeatedly makes physical contact with an individual disregarding adult requests to stop.
- Repetitive Disruptions - Student engages in a behavior that interrupts classroom instruction or class activity continuously.
- Property Damage/Vandalism – Student deliberately impairs the usefulness of school property or property of peers.
- Theft – Student is in possession of something that does not belong to him/her without the owner’s permission.
- Use/Possession of Weapons – Student is in possession of knives or guns (real or look alike) or other objects capable to causing bodily harm.

- Obtain Adult Attention: Student engages in problem behavior(s) to gain adult(s) attention.
