Hello Parents/Guardians

I am your child’s school counselor, Debbie Rodery.  I wanted to let you know what I do and how I am here to help you and your child.  This year is very important to your child’s future school career.  We hope to get them started with a positive attitude as well as a love for school.  This year, I will be spending time in your child’s classroom teaching topics such as:

• Character Education
• Drug Awareness
• Promotion of a positive self-esteem
• How to be a friend
• Bullying
• Safety
• Beginning career awareness
• PBS

I am also here to help your child individually with difficult and/or unchangeable life events, give them the opportunity to share their feeling and concerns, develop problem solving skills and build self-esteem and confidence in themselves.

• Family changes (moving, birth of a new sibling, death, divorce, or separation)
• Home stress
• Parenting
• Classroom behavior
• Sudden changes in your child’s behavior
