Kindergarten Screening -Call for an appointment

Enrollment and screening for next year’s (2021-2022) kindergarten students in the Sikeston R-6 School District will be on April 20-23, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church located at 1307 N. Main. Kindergarten students must be five years old by July 31, 2021. Parents should call the Kindergarten Center at 471-0653 to make an appointment. Appointments will be taken ahead of walk-ins. The enrollment and screening process will take about two hours. The child must be present. In order to be in compliance with both state and local requirements, parents need to provide the school with the child’s state issued birth certificate, immunization record, social security card, Medicaid card (if applicable) and proof of residency. Children should be enrolled even if all of these documents are not available, however, these records must be provided before the child begins class on the first day of school. Parents may go ahead and bring in documents to copy starting April 6 at the Kindergarten. This will save you time at the screening. Make-up day for preschool screening will be on Wednesday, April 21. This screening is for children who will be four by July 31, 2021.
